1. Definitions

“Prometheus Biolabs”, “we”, “us”, or “our” refers to the operator of the training services.
“Participant” refers to any individual attending a course.
“Services” refers to all laboratory training sessions, materials, and related services.

 

2. Acceptance of Terms

By booking, attending, or participating in any Prometheus Biolabs course, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree, you must not book or attend.

 

3. Nature of Services

3.1 Our courses involve supervised laboratory-based training in microbiology and molecular biology techniques.
3.2 Activities may include handling biological materials and laboratory equipment within a CL2 environment.
3.3 Participation involves inherent risks, including but not limited to minor injury, exposure to laboratory materials, or equipment-related incidents.

 

4. Assumption of Risk

4.1 By attending, Participants acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with laboratory training.
4.2 Participants agree to comply fully with all safety instructions, PPE requirements, and laboratory protocols.
4.3 Failure to follow safety guidance may result in immediate removal without refund.

 

5. Medical Fitness & Disclosure

5.1 Participants must disclose any medical condition, allergy, pregnancy, immunocompromised status, or other relevant health factor prior to attendance.
5.2 We reserve the right to refuse participation where attendance may pose a safety risk.
5.3 Responsibility for medical suitability rests with the Participant.

 

6. Bookings & Payment

6.1 Bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of full cleared payment.
6.2 We reserve the right to refuse any booking at our discretion.
6.3 All prices are stated in GBP and are subject to VAT where applicable.

 

7. Cancellations & Refund Policy

7.1 Cancellation requests must be made in writing.
7.2 Refunds, where applicable, are granted strictly in accordance with our published cancellation policy.
7.3 Failure to attend constitutes a no-show and is non-refundable.
7.4 We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule due to insufficient enrolment, instructor illness, facility issues, force majeure, or safety concerns. In such cases, liability is limited to a refund of fees paid.

 

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is unlawful.
8.2 Subject to clause 8.1, Prometheus Biolabs shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential loss

  • Loss of earnings

  • Loss of opportunity

  • Loss of business

  • Damage to personal property

8.3 Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the total course fee paid by the Participant.

8.4 Participants agree that laboratory attendance is voluntary and undertaken at their own risk.

 

9. Indemnity

Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Prometheus Biolabs, its instructors, contractors, and host facilities against claims, damages, or losses arising from:

  • Breach of these Terms

  • Failure to follow safety instructions

  • Misuse of equipment

  • Negligent or reckless conduct

 

10. Behaviour & Conduct

10.1 Professional conduct is required at all times.
10.2 We reserve the absolute right to remove any Participant for:

  • Unsafe behaviour

  • Harassment

  • Disruption

  • Non-compliance with safety rules

Removal under this clause is non-refundable.

 

11. Intellectual Property

All training materials, protocols, course notes, presentations, and methodologies remain the exclusive intellectual property of Prometheus Biolabs.

Reproduction, distribution, recording, or commercial use without written permission is strictly prohibited.

 

12. Photography & Recording

Unauthorised photography, filming, or recording within laboratory premises is prohibited.
Promotional photography will only occur with explicit written consent.

 

13. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Government restrictions

  • Public health emergencies

  • Utility failures

  • Facility closure

  • Industrial action

 

14. Insurance

Participants are responsible for arranging their own personal insurance if desired.
Prometheus Biolabs maintains appropriate public liability insurance; however, this does not negate participant responsibility.

 

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
