Prometheus Biolabs is a specialist teaching laboratory offering hands-on training in core and molecular microbiology techniques. Our courses focus on practical skills, safety, and real laboratory workflows.

 

Who are the courses designed for?
Our courses are suitable for:

• Professionals seeking to refresh or expand practical lab skills

No prior professional lab experience is required for the Core Microbiology course.

How many students are in each class?
Each session is limited to a maximum of six (6) students to ensure close supervision, safety, and high-quality instruction.

 

Course & Enrolment Questions

 

Do I need prior laboratory experience?
No prior experience is required for our Core Microbiology course.
For the Advanced Molecular Microbiology course, prior lab experience or completion of Core Microbiology course is strongly recommended.

Can I take only one course, or do I have to take both?
You may:

• Take either course individually, or

• Bundle both courses for comprehensive microbiology training

Bundling is recommended for learners seeking a broader skill set.

 

How long are the courses?
Each course is delivered as a full-day, in-person laboratory session unless otherwise stated.

 

Do I receive a certificate?
Yes. Participants who complete a course will receive a Certificate of Completion from Prometheus Biolabs.

 

Safety & Laboratory Environment

 

Are live microorganisms used in the courses?
Yes. Training involves the use of microorganisms appropriate for teaching laboratories and handled under controlled conditions with strict safety protocols.

 

What safety measures are in place?
All participants receive a safety briefing before entering the lab. Sessions are fully supervised, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.

What should I wear to the lab?
Participants must wear:

• Closed-toe shoes

• Long trousers or full-length skirts

• Tied-back long hair

Lab coats, gloves, and other PPE will be provided.

Courses can be booked through our website. Places are confirmed once full payment has been received.
